Indulge in the ultimate crab feast! We’re excited to offer our renowned hardshell Blue Crabs and Homemade Jumbo Lump Crabcakes for nationwide shipping. Our crabs are fresh caught and crab cakes are crafted with care and made to order daily. Each is a testament to our commitment to quality, using only the freshest and finest—rich in flavor and perfect for a traditional Maryland-inspired meal.
When placing your Crab order, you have the option to choose between a dozen, 1/2 bushel or a bushel of our steamed blue crabs. A dozen is perfect for a small gathering or a personal feast, while a bushel is ideal for larger parties or sharing with friends and family. Upon receiving your shipment, it's important to refrigerate the crabs immediately to maintain their quality. We will provide reheating instructions along with your order.
Our Homemade Jumbo Lump Crabcakes, come uncooked. After they arrive, you can choose to cook them right away or freeze them for later enjoyment. We advise against keeping them frozen for more than a month to preserve their quality. Easy cooking instructions are included with your order, empowering you to prepare a delicious meal effortlessly.
At Kahler's Crabhouse, we take pride in delivering the highest quality steamed crabs straight from the sea to your table. Our commitment to freshness and flavor ensures that every bite of our succulent crabs is a true seafood delight.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
• Plan for approximately 3 to 10 crabs per person. Depending on size of the crabs, appetites, and whether you are serving other food.
• Crabs can be messy to pick, so wear appropriate clothing.
• Choose a table that is large enough for each person to have space to pick.
• Cover/protect your table with heavy brown paper or layered newspapers.
• Other suggested items include mallets, claw crackers, knives, paper towels, and a nearby sink for hand washing.
• Extra seasoning and sauce options for dipping meat include vinegar, cocktail sauce, and melted butter.
PRO-TIP; When it's time to clean up, carefully check the piles of crabs shells for buried items like mallets and knives. Then roll up the shells in the paper on the table and place in a large plastic bag for disposal.
Now comes the fun part – eating the steamed crabs! Start by removing the claws and cracking them open to reveal the tender meat inside. Next, twist and pull off the top shell, exposing the main body of the crab.Remove the pointed gills and dispose of them. Use your mallet to gently crack the body segments and extract the sweet crab meat. Some people love to savor the flavorful crab "mustard" found inside the body - give it a try! To complement the rich flavors of our steamed crabs, consider serving them with melted butter, lemon wedges, and a side of Old Bay seasoning for an extra kick. For a complete seafood feast, pair your crabs with fresh corn on the cob, coleslaw, and hush puppies. And of course, don't forget to have plenty of napkins on hand!
